u2 played the song magnificent on letterman on tuesday (and bono + eyeliner on the cover of rolling stone)

as atu2 points out, inside the march 19 issue of rolling stone, it says that u2 will put out another album in 2010 and that it will, according to the bono "be quieter than No Line in many ways, it's that ghost album of hymns and Sufi singing. We're making a kind of heartbreaker, a meditative, reflexive piece of work, but not indulgent."

read a much longer excerpt from the rolling stone article here.

u2 played magnificent last night on letterman. bono gave a happy birthday shout out to sam o'sullivan and dave told adam "i can feel that right in my chest. tremendous!" (me, too).

also:

bono is now posting video diaries on u2.com - here's part 1, what i like to call a report from the bottom half of bono's face.

paul mcguinness talks to hot press about the tour.
(6 weeks in europe to start, then 6 weeks in north america. football stadiums only in the u.s. - no baseball stadiums).

u2.com posted this not really that helpful info about friday morning: The band will be performing live on ABC's 'Good Morning America' this Friday morning at 8am. No word on the location but word is that it's definitely 8am. More if we get it. good morning america's website says: Please note no public tickets are available to this show. Per the band, the performance is open only to students at a private university in New York City.

Someone with - I admit, somewhat remote - contacts said it's going to be Fordham. Which would work with the Bronx rumor I've heard on the web before. Limiting it to their students is a bit sad but I wonder if one could just walk onto their campus (or find some student on facebook to walk you in for 50 bucks)

yeah i'm assuming the fordham thing is true at this point, just wondering if the "students only" thing is true. i'll be there trying to get in one way or another ;)

It's this character from the movie ... the movie is weird - haven't watched all of it yet. A little Film Noir here and there - Get on Your Boots part is like Discoqtheque Music Video. That sorta thing. It's a story line about this dude in Paris.
I thought the deluxe version somehow included that???
