r.e.m. on the colbert report
people are calling this your comeback album. when you hear people say that do you want to tell those people to go f**k themselves?
u2 must appear on colbert. must.
videos below or click here.
the new r.e.m. album is available as a digital download on amazon. you can buy the album (including 5 bonus tracks) for $8.99, drm free. (u.s. only) that's a good deal.

brooklyn vegan: u2 signs 12 year deal with live nation
nothing like finding random photos on flickr and making fun of the people in them!
stereogum: stephen malkmus on u2-arcade fire
i like how he implies u2 "hung out" with arcade fire because they were a "threat"

I was D-Y-I-N-G last night at the codpiece part. I think I slowly punched the couch a few times in delight while laughing.
I can't watch videos from Comedy Central anymore ... is it because I live in Canada?
And maybe U2 wants to hang with Arcade Fire because they're really good ... like their peers (same reason they'd want to hang out with Radiohead or R.E.M. & vice versa.)
I never thought much of Pavement actually ... didn't think they were that good.
i forgot to mention that stipe looks so so sharp in that suit. so sharp.
cameron i don't know about the canada thing, maybe some of our other canadian commenters can enlighten.
oh, and u2/bono are pure evil. every action they take is to ensure their own superiority and quash all underlings. come on, now.
Thank you REM for a fantastic new album! You wouldn't think Michael Stipe was that funny - He looks too serious to be that hilarious.
U2 on The Colbert Report? That would be the most awesome thing ever (and my fangirl head would probably explode from the meeting of awesomeness).
You just know The Edge would be great on it too.
I don't know who Pavement are. But then again I'm not indie hip. As evident by my gratuitous use of the word "awesome" above.

Yes it is. But you can proably get them off of ifilm.com though.
Michael Stipe is adorable. He can have all the girls he wants, lol...
Yes, U2 definitely have to go on Colbert Report! I think Colbert is a big fan, because he did a hilarious report about them on Daily Show after the Suberbowl. I would post it, but Youtube nazis made me take it down. :( I know Jon Stewart is a big fan too. I've kind of wondered why U2 haven't gone on Daily Show, since you would think they would love that sort of thing. All of their friends have been on...
And I tried to listen to Pavement a long time ago because everyone was comparing them to U2. I didn't hear the similarities at all. It's just stupid grunge crap from the 90's. Weak melodies, inane lyrics. I totally forgot about them until now... I agree that U2 probably courted Arcade Fire for business-related reasons, but only because Arcade Fire is an excellent band that writes good songs and deserved kudos from peers like U2.
