muse just put out a live dvd/cd called haarp and if i was a fan who cared at all, i'd be amused that the super-limited edition dvd versions that got shipped to the u.s. are the wrong region code. or that they went and put up a free ipod download link on their site and then deactivated it with no explanation. perhaps (?) because itunes was SELLING ipod videos of the dvd while the band's official website was giving them away. i would say, wow, no wonder this band is ginormous everywhere but the u.s. whoever is marketing them in the u.s is clearly RETARDED brilliant!

Haha! They didn't put that link up for us by accident- they did it for the fans and deactivated it before loads of people could get to it, they obviously couldn't keep the links there forever. I think it's a good thing that not all bands are obsessed with sales and marketing to be frank.

then why are the links back up now?

i am glad the band is not interested with marketing as well, cause they don't market themselves in the uk at all, huh? ha ha. right.

well tbh there are no advertisments for anything they do in the UK....in the US they had adverts etc for albums, muse have such a following in the UK the most they have to do is put something up on their website and itll be sold out out within the same day... hell earls court sold out 2 nights in a row within the hour of tickets going on sale....anyway... Best. Band. Live.

nobody said anything about "adverts" - you do realize that a website is a marketing tool, right? an interview with nme is a marketing tool. muse definitely markets themselves. it's nothing to be ashamed of. my whole point is that they are not marketed well at all in the u.s.

that is all.

muse dont apply to be in NME..... NME decide to write an article on them VERY rarely, infact only when there is a new album out.

the website is available to everyone everywhere... anyway america had its chance to be the people who brought muse to fame but they thought tey could tell them what to do and were given two fingers.

I'm not sure why we are arguing - just because we can, I guess? Because I don't think that Muse are sell outs and I know that they don't over market themselves. And I think that the U.S. audience is stupid for not embracing them.

But you're quite naive if you don't see that being on the cover of magazines and agreeing to sit and do interviews and get photos taken when the new album is out IS marketing.
