i think anonymous commenter just means that it reinforces the "slow down, take your time" theme - i.e., when you rush, you tend to misspell.
also, i think it is wrong to say the rest of the campaign focuses on negatives. the garbage ad is obviously a joke. the rest of the ads all have some form of geeky runner humor.
wow, it is a bit amusing to me that there is an adfreak discussion about this breaking out ...
This reminds me of the recent celebratory t-shirt debacle which befell the West Virginia University basketball team.
After winning the NIT, they were handed t-shirts which said something like "West Virgina - NIT Champs". Excellent unintentional humor which unfortunately reinforced some negative stereotypes.

You know, I applaud people like you pointing out this kind of sloppy copy error (something I like to call spolling errers).
As a copywriter, I am a stickler for correct grammar and spelling, but for some in this business it's more about ideas than how to spell.
Which is a shame.
purplesimon out...
I think it was done on purpose. To reinforce the idea.
I am a copywriter too and if the idea sucks, it doesn't matter how well you spell.
I don't believe it was done on purpose, it doesn't make sense to leave out a letter. Plus, the rest of the campaign doesn't leave a letter off!
Also, as someone else points out on AdWeek, why does the rest of the campaign focus on perceived negative things, such as 'smell the garbage'?
Also, I don't see how the missing 'r' reinforces the idea. I'd be interested to hear why you say that.

Hopefully Rebook does not think that this spelling error is a clever viral marketing concept.
It may spread around for sure, but it isn't clever.
