everything gone blue

[mp3]
findlay brown - but you love me

on the way back i lost my crown / left the angels got swallowed by the ground / with the fear that i'd never tried / then the tears came, the first i'd ever cried

i ran across findlay brown's haunting psychedelic-tinged folk sound on a recent cd sampler from word magazine. people who play the comparison game have referred to findlay as a british simon and garfunkel. in my head, i hear elements of iron and wine, george harrison and darker shades of crosby, stills & nash. but my head is not normal, really, so take it as you will....

it turns out that findlay's song on the word compilation was listed incorrectly as "separated by the sea." the song is actually called "but you love me." i found that out by emailing findlay to ask him if i could post his song. he said "no probs."

i'm not sure if the intrigue lies in his lyrics or his delivery or his urgency. or the simplicity. the percussion? whatever, i like it.

visit findlay brown on myspace for more info.
