is the sun shining?

sunday morning and an 8-cup pot of coffee is brewing all for me. woot woot. i'm pretty sure the sun is shining, too, but i don't have confirmation on that quite yet.

i was happy to return to the land of the living this morning and see that the strokes passed their nyc blogger exams this week. woot woot x 2.

so anyway, i was wondering, do you think it is worse for a guy to get a blow job in the oval office and deny it or to get warned that an entire city might get flooded over and then say "well we never coulda anticipated that, now could we?" please note that this may indeed be a rhetorical question. feel free not to ponder it. at all.

songs for sunday:

u2 live in buenos aires (3-2-06), broadcast quality audio, via u2 log. this song is so hot. really, you shouldn't listen to it if you are anti-sexy.

[mp3] u2 - mysterious ways (live)

sound team, from the work ep. every time i tell people these guys sound like the strokes they look at me funny. (or is that because i am funny looking? not sure). more sound team mp3s available here.

[mp3] sound team - orange bird

archie bronson outfit, from the upcoming derdang derdang album. they are not the british white stripes! stop saying that people. primal guitar parts, desperate vocals. check and check. but they are different! more on these guys here.

[mp3] archie bronson outfit - cherry lips

thanks for Mysterious Ways... it's way up there for me as well in the U2 Badass Song Pantheon, but it doesn't quite come close to "Until The End of the World"... for me, at least...

My favorite comedian, Eddie Izzard, has a routine about perjury. He says, we recognize that there are different levels of murder so there should be different levels of perjury.

Perjury One is saying there was no Holocaust when millions of people died and Perjury Nine is when you said you shagged someone and you didn't.

I think Clinton was Perjury Nine and Bush Perjury One.

I think President Bill Clinton passing up a perfectly good opportunity to nab Osama bin Laden is an extremely serious offense. It could well have prevented the World Trade Center disaster. I believe that one killed more people than the hurricane.

Hindsight is 20/20, and presidents from both parties make mistakes that cause deaths.

Mr. Clinton is now inexplicably shilling for Dubai. (Or considering the $350,000 that country paid him to give speeches there, maybe it is not inexplicable.) It does make one wonder just whose side he is on. Though in a way it shows a certain consistency, doesn't it?

Since you asked.

i thought i asked about a blow job, actually. but thanks for your opinion. i agree clinton's strategy, or lack of, regarding bin laden was a terrible mistake. however, certainly you wouldn't argue that bush did a very good job trying to hunt down bin laden. or maybe he thought osama was hiding in new orleans, and was trying to "flood him out."
