halfway home
i'm in between shows up in boston, wondering if there is any way tonight could possibly top last night.
we got into the ellipse last night. third row. the show sounds good from everywhere in the house, but it feels good when you are that close. you can see the concentrated glare of the edge, the focus in larry's eyes, and the nonchalance of adam just grinning away at every soul who catches his eye. and of course, then there's that little, glistening, sweaty guy. when you are close enough to look into yer man's eyes, yeah, um, that's a good thing.
they played three encores last night, and the highlights for me were bad, fast cars, until the end of the world and stuck in a moment. we almost missed the third encore because we were sure the gig was over, but we caught the last two songs from the loge. read the recap from u2tours.com here.
tonight's my last vertigo show of the year. i have not been disappointed yet. i'm not sure how they'll top last night, but i can't wait to see them try. i'm supposed to go to work tomorrow in nyc, but a snowstorm is expected to hit boston tonight. i'm going to spend all afternoon coming up with an excuse for missing work tomorrow. (and praying for mofo).
peace

at the center was bono, of course, a bulky, yet sensual presence in superb, soaring voice, preening and exhorting the crowd to exultation like a left-wing holy roller, as if he were leading a political rally inside the world's biggest pub. read more of the boston globe review here

MOFO!
I'm in club 139 tonight....
the only thing that could possibly top last night's show for you would be mofo in today's show....pray for mofo*
10 more sleeps until my last show of the tour in Salt Lake City. I doubt I'll be able to catch the over seas leg of the tour. 4 times in four different cities isn't bad.
I'll just have to start saving up money and vacation time for the next tour. Maybe they'll come back to Edmonton next time out.
