crazy cash

so apparently $100 really is not enough to buy little red lunch boxes nowadays. that was my bid on bono's lunchbox, and it had me in the lead for oh, about 4 minutes. oh well, i tried. if you have several thousand dollars to spare, check out this ebay auction of celebrity-designed lunchboxes. it's a benefit for charities in nyc and south africa.

so u2 is in texas for a few days. it must be comforting for bono to know that if he babbles or makes no sense on stage during the texas shows, nobody will notice. after all, this is the place that gave us a president who says things like this. thanks to dj monster mo for pointing out that hysterical streaming video to us.

speaking of peeps who say crazy things, i've just been reading an article on sinead o'connor in hot press magazine (registration required). sinead's new album throw down your arms is a roots reggae cover album. girl definitely has some interesting thoughts in that head of hers. sinead has been beaten down and you can hear every ounce of her fighting spirit in her voice. who she is and what she believes means little to me, i'm really just a fan of that voice. but i must say, one line of hers in particular from this article really struck me as such a total bonoism that i have to share it. she's explaining her own spiritual path: what i'm trying to do is create spaces where god can exist outside of religion.

a couple of tracks from throw down your arms. if you like it, buy it.

Did said lunchbox double as Bono's sleeping quarters? Because that could explain the price.

I am not crazy about Texas either & do agree that our fearless leader does not always communicate intelligently. But will say there are some good people in Texas & at times they do get a bad rap because of the mans unpopularity. The people down there are pretty friendly folks & are part of our wonderful country. The pace at times is slower in some areas & people talk slow which ain't bad. Love the Northeast but at times people can be pushy & cold there. Austin is a way cool town & is responsible for a huge indie music scene. Not a bad place to visit Texas.

Didn't realize Sinead had a new album. roots reggae covers is a cool idea. Thanks for the Sinead & the live U2!
Does she still have her head shaved these days?

yeah sinead grew her hair but now it is shaved again.

as for b's lunchbox, if he could sleep in there, it would have to be a really, really giant lunchbox, right?

I bet the lunchbox is normal sized, and Bono just sleeps in it because he is roughly 8 inches tall.

but you're from chicago, so what do you know?

I am not from Chicago! I despise the people who are really from suburbs who say they are from a big city when they're really not.

Nonetheless, Bono is small, and Chicago rocks socks.

i'm half in the suburbs and half in the big city so you can despise me. and bono is larger than life.
